Find an Abatement Contractor in Calgary
Tell us what you found or suspect and we will send your request to local Calgary abatement and remediation contractors, who reply to you by email.
How It Works
- Tell us what you need: asbestos testing or removal, vermiculite, a mould inspection or cleanup, lead paint, a pre-renovation assessment or clearance testing
- We send your request on to local abatement and remediation contractors in the Calgary Construction Network directory
- They reply to you by email to arrange a visit, sampling if needed, and a written quote
- Compare quotes, ask questions and decide if it is the right fit, with no obligation
What to Check Before You Hire
- Valid Alberta asbestos worker cards for everyone who will enter the work area (there is no contractor licence for abatement in Alberta)
- An Alberta prepaid contracting licence if the contractor takes any deposit (Service Alberta licence lookup)
- A WCB-Alberta clearance letter showing their account is in good standing
- A written contract with itemized prices, dates, the total with taxes and your cancellation rights
- That the 72-hour Alberta OHS notification will be filed, and that containment, clearance testing and disposal at Shepard landfill are in the price
- We do not screen or verify contractors, so check these yourself before you sign

If Something Was Disturbed If a material you suspect contains asbestos has been cut, sanded or broken, stop the work, leave the room, keep others and pets out, close the door, and do not sweep or vacuum. Have it tested before anyone goes back in. For mould after a flood or sewer backup, the priority is stopping the water and drying the space.
